The HEC GIC Member Directory

The purpose of the HEC Global Impact Community is to facilitate connections between professionals working in impact around the world. To that end, we have developed a membership directory that members can use to quickly search for potential colleagues, partners, investors, investees, mentors, mentees, and all else besides!  

This member database is only available to approved members of the HEC Global Impact Community. If you wish to become a member, please contact us.

By accessing and using this directory, you acknowledge that member information is shared for the purpose of professional networking and collaboration within the community. You agree to use this information responsibly and not to copy, distribute, or use it for purposes outside the community.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not access the directory.

The HEC GIC Member Directory Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

The HEC Global Impact Community (“GIC”, “we”, “us”) is an HEC Paris alumni-led professional network. It is not formally affiliated with HEC Paris. This directory is maintained for the purpose of facilitating connections among members of the community.

For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, the data controller is: HEC Global Impact Community

2. What Data We Collect

We collect and process the information you voluntarily provide, which may include:

  • Name

  • Contact information (e.g., email, phone number)

  • Professional information (e.g., employer, role, sectors, expertise)

  • Interests and preferences related to impact and networking

You are asked not to include sensitive personal data, such as information relating to health, political opinions, religion, or other special categories of data.

3. Purpose of Processing

Your data is collected and used solely to:

  • Create and maintain a member directory

  • Facilitate professional networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among members

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on your explicit consent, which you provide when submitting your information via the member intake survey.

5. How Your Data May Be Shared

  • Your information will be visible to other approved members of the HEC Global Impact Community via a shared directory.

  • Access to the directory is restricted to members granted access through a controlled Google Group.

Members are expected to use this information only for community-related, professional purposes and not for external distribution or commercial use.

If you separately opt in, certain member profile and contact information may also be shared with other HEC Paris-affiliated alumni organizations, initiatives, or professional communities for purposes consistent with professional networking, alumni engagement, and impact collaboration.

Your information will not be sold or shared for unrelated commercial purposes.

6. Data Storage & Transfers

  • The directory is hosted on Google Sheets, a cloud service provided by Google.

  • Your data may be stored on servers outside your country of residence, including the United States.

  • Google acts as a data processor and operates under applicable data protection frameworks (including GDPR-compliant safeguards).

7. Data Retention

Your data will be retained for as long as you remain a member of the directory or until you request its removal.

We may periodically review and update the directory to ensure information remains accurate and relevant.

8. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR and UK GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Withdraw your consent at any time

9. Data Security & Limitations

We take reasonable steps to restrict access to the directory to approved members. However:

  • We cannot fully prevent members from copying or sharing data externally

  • By participating, you acknowledge and accept this inherent limitation

10. Updates to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated to members.
